Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Barista/Cafe Team Member to join our team. As a key member of our quick-service cafe, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of bevs and bites. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, possess excellent communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Greet and serve customers with a friendly and welcoming attitude, providing personalized service to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, smoothies, and other café menu items according to established recipes and quality standards.
Operate espresso machines, coffee grinders, and other cafe equipment with precision and efficiency.
Maintain a clean and organized environment
Handle cash and card transactions accurately, following proper cash handling procedures and maintaining cash register integrity.
Monitor and restock inventory of cafe supplies.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations, assisting with tasks as needed to support the overall success of the cafe.
Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards at all times.
Provide information to customers regarding menu items, specials, and promotions, as well as any dietary or allergen concerns.
Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively, supporting fellow team members, and fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working as a barista or in a similar customer service role preferred.
Passion for coffee and a strong knowledge of coffee beverages and brewing methods.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with customers and colleagues.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks as needed.
Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining cleanliness and organization in the café.
Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.
Food Handler's Certification is a plus
